New Gold Fish and Koi Pond

This is our new pond, it is much larger than the others and I needed it so that I could seperate some of the larger fish. Baby Sister could not wait to drink out of the new pool, so I let her out doors to check it out. I think it holds around one hundred and seventy five gallons of water, could be more, I do not rembember what was on the tag when we bought it. It took most of the day to dig the hole to lower it into the ground halfway. This will help to keep the temperature of the water down in the summertime. I did all of the digging with a shovel and some help from my tiller. I had to move two fir bushes to make room for the pool. After getting it down to the desired level, I smoothed it out and went down to the creek on the tractor and got a big scoop of creek sand and placed a layer of sand on the bottom to prevent any sharp objects from damaging the pond. I will have to let the water set for twenty-four to forty eight hours to get to the right temperature, so the fish will not go into shock when I move them. In the meanwhile I will collect field rocks from around the farm to dress up the outside and plant some greenery around the rocks. Will post more pictures and the scence changes.
