Sue, the fish that we rescued is in this photo, the one with the three point tail. It is doing real well in it's new pond. It was the one that we got out of the old pond that was full of muddy water.
Hydranger bush that I ordered from Spring Hill several years ago. It has finally grown large and has a lot of blooms.
Stargazer lillies that I planted last year around our bluebird house in the back yard.
A little info on our garden, our neighbor Don has been a lot of help getting me back into raising a garden. It has been over thirty to thirty five years since I planted a garden. We have had a few stringbeans and small potatoes. Boy were they good.
Tomatoes are almost as large as a baseball, hope to have some ripe ones by the end of the month.
Everything looks fabulous! The fish looks fat and happy, I think hydrangeas are my second most favorite flower to grow, and those tomatoes! We gave up on a regular garden - the deer eat it all, so we got two of those topsy turvey planters and put a couple tomato plants in that. We just spotted our first two teeny baby tomatoes yesterday! Ah the joys of gardening in the short northern season....
My name is Earl King and I live in a small town in the northern piedmont of North Carolina. I have been happily married for over forty years. We are located almost equal distance from Kerr Lake and Gaston Lake. Over the past twenty five or so years the area has had many people move into the area building nice homes on the lakes. We are basically an agricultural community, but fast becoming an antique center with many shops in our little town. I have lived here almost all of my life except for a short period when I helped build bridges in the Washington, D.C. area and a short period in the military. After finishing a thirty year career with the N.C. Department of Correction, rising through the ranks from a correctional officer to the rank of Superintendent III overseeing a staff of one hundred and fifty and four hundred medium custody inmates. I retired to enjoy my senior years, which I do each day the "Good Lord" gives me. I have always loved photography and assist local and state law enforcement photographing wrecks and crime scenes. I also work freelance for a local newspaper photographing sports events and other special events.
